Kevin Smith brings Spider-Man and Hulk together for a wild exorcism story
May 9, 2026

What happens when Spider-Man and the Hulk team up under a powerhouse creative lineup? A chaotic, high-energy ride.
This August, writers Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob) and Andy McElfresh (The Tonight Show) join artist R.B. Silva (One World Under Doom) to bring the two icons together for a story that pushes them into unexpected territory: the exorcism of Bruce Banner.
The five-issue limited series kicks off with Easter Mass in Central Park thrown into chaos by Mole Man and a wave of pun-loving villains. Peter Parker is quick to jump into action, only for the Hulk to crash the scene in his own way. As the dust settles, Matt Murdock enters the picture, and Peter learns that Bruce Banner is trying to rid himself of the Hulk through a religious solution. That means an exorcism.
“I’ve played with Peter Parker and swung with Spider-Man before, but this is the first time I’m having Hulk issues,” said Smith. “Andy and I are dropping two of Marvel’s most well-known scientists into a spiritual story of Biblical proportions as we exorcise the Incredible Hulk – and I’m not talking cross-fit!”
Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire and Brimstone promises big action, sharp humor, and a wild premise that leans into both characters’ personalities. Marvel has also shared a first look at R.B. Silva’s cover and interior pages ahead of the book’s release.
The first issue arrives this August, with preorders available now at local comic shops.
